Shadows of Isildur; Laketown is a family-friendly game and we have players of all ages. As this is an RPI and the game is intended to have characters engage in realistic play it is only natural for characters to fall in love and therein choose to take relationships to the next intimate step. That said, a line exists between roleplaying sexual behavior and engaging in lewd behavior that goes against our family-friendly status. While Staff avoid getting into the middle of such sensitive areas of game play, we do have rules and policies to protect our integrity as a community and our players.
This avenue or game play is often referred to as 'mudsex'. It needs to be said that this game is not for the sexual gratification of players. If that is your desire as a player, there are games and communities available to you elsewhere; this is not that kind of game or community. We require our players who choose to engage in such intimate aspects of romance to be respectful of one another, be mature, use common sense, good taste and follow the following rules:
- Do not use language or descriptors that would not be appropriate in a public forum.
- RP content may not focus solely upon the act of sex or contain material that a Minor should not see, please stick to romance language and not erotica or clinical words
- Keep it in private rooms, do not use public areas or 'assumed private areas'
- Do not use the 'hide' command while engaging in intimate things
- Do not use intimate activities for the purpose of your own OOC sexual pleasure or to engage in an OOC relationship with another player, keep your IC and OOC separate as always
- Do not require another player to RP a sexual scene they are uncomfortable with - all intimate RP requires full consent of both parties involved
- Do not engage in Rape of any kind, it is not permitted no matter if both parties agree to it. Rape is not permitted in Shadows of Isildur; Laketown whether acted out or not - that means that your character cannot have a past experience with rape, a plot engaging in it, nor do we permit it to be ICly used as a weapon. Rape, threats of rape, or accusations of rape will not be tolerated
- Do not OOCly harass a Player who declines to RP out intimate scenes by using Fade to Black - it is an OOC choice that you will respect
- Know that if you engage in mudsex roleplay that you do so at your own risk. Risks include: violating real-life laws that vary in county, state and country, embarrassing yourself, damaging your RL significant other who may not see such RP as innocent, causing OOC discord in another relationship, offending the other Player(s) involved by using explicit terminology that goes against our mudsex policies and so on.
- Realize that you as a Player are responsible should the other Player(s) involved be underage. Do NOT engage in mudsex with Minors who are under the age of consent under any circumstance. If you are a Minor, do not endanger other Players by portraying yourself as an Adult or you will be permanently banned
- We do not permit the playing of children, be them PCs or NPCs. Any intimate roleplay directed at a child NPC will result in the Player of the PC to be banned. Any Player who attempts to play a Child PC and roleplay intimately will have their character immediately retired. Any character with a background in intimate relations with children will not be approved. Any character who talks, thinks, plans, etc. on engaging in intimate relations with children will be immediately retired.
Shadows of Isildur; Laketown does not endorse mudsex and players who are viewed as playing solely for personal sexual gratification, to prey on our Players, or breaks the above rules of a family-friendly community will be removed from the game.
